Malév expands its Bucharest flights

Malev - From 26th March there will be up to four flights between Budapest and Bucharest every day, increasing the weekly count from 15 to 26. The new frequencies supplement the existing schedules providing a much better schedule for point to point business travellers and for those connecting from Romania to other cities on the extensive Malév network. This revised schedule pattern will satisfy the needs of a wide range of Malév customers in Hungary, in Romania and across the network. With this significant expanision of the frequency to Bucharest the Hungarian airline is confirming its ongoing commitment to support the growing travel demand between the two countries. According to last years’ experiences Budapest-Bucharest is one the most popular Malév route. In 2005 the number of passengers grew more than 10% compared to 2004, and the load factor was an average of 70% .
Not only is Malév increasing frequency to Bucharest but also to other Romanian cities too. One additional weekly service each to Tirgu Mures and Constanta will be included in the new programme. Altogether there will be four flights a week to the Transylvanian city and three to the Black Sea resort and port. Malév is also growing from Timisoara, which is Western Romania’s most dynamically developing city, where there will be three extra flights weekly, bringing the total to nine. The additional Timisoara-Budapest flights are ideal for Romanians wishing to connect to western European cities in a fast and efficient way. Malév’s flights to Cluj Napoca flown with Carpatair continue to operate twice a day.
With these new developments Malév is now proud to be the international airline with more frequencies to more destinations in Romania than any other – 55 weekly frequencies between Budapest and five Romanian cities. No other airline offers this range of opportunities for travel to and from Romania.

Flying again …
Yes, tomorow at 17.20 I am taking off for Cagliari, in Sardinia (never say that Sardinia is Italy because Sardinians will not like it!
). Im going there with a good friend of mine, Iela. She was in Berlin with me. Why we are going? Because it is a youth exchange programme on Journalism and we are just happy to be involved in a non-formal education project.
Still with all this excitement … I still have not packed the things I’ll be carrying with me, I have not made the few sandwiches we will take with us and I still have to complete a raport for my job (God knows when this last thing will happen).
Anyway…I am optimistic. Even I know I’ll use Alitalia services again I am still optimistic.
This is all now …I am just going to pack some things!
LOGAN - the “car” is flying
I found an interesting fact about our Renault Logan Romanian car. It’s flying! Kidding! But still… read the next rows.

Loganair began in 1962 as the air taxi service of the Logan Construction Company Ltd, operating a single Piper Aztec from Edinburgh. Almost immediately, it was apparent that there was a demand for scheduled services in addition to the primary role as an air taxi, and as such Loganair’s fleet grew. As the network expanded to take in more remote islands and communities, Loganair’s scheduled network began to emerge.
In 1964 Loganair mounted an inter-island scheduled network in Orkney and a similar network in Shetland commenced in 1970, and the strong association with these island communities continues today. Air ambulance services were established in 1967 covering Coll, Colonsay, Oronsay, Mull and Oban, and Loganair is proud to maintain the relationship with the Scottish Ambulance Service, and to continually provide air ambulance cover with dedicated Britten Norman Islander aircraft at Glasgow, Kirkwall and Lerwick.
SkyEurope - first company to abolish fuel surcharge
Have you saw any add with flights with small prices for a round trip?
Have you checked the website of that company and you found out a huge price?
Then you know that there was a fuel surcharge of 30-40 euro/passenger/segment… so60-80 euros more at the total price.
Now, SkyEurope announced that they will cut the fuel surcharge tax and they will add just the airport taxes to the fare of the ticket. SkyEurope Airlines will also cut all additional passenger fees or reservation charges as they become part of the passenger base fare. The only applicable remaining cost on top of the airfare is the net airport departure tax and government tax (only if applicable).
So, a flight Bucharest Baneasa - Bratislava International - Bucharest Baneasa will cost (at the minimum fare basis) 54.74 EURO:
- 14 euro the outbound fare basis
- 6 euro outbound airport tax
- 4 euro outbound Government tax
- 14 euro return fare basis
- 12,74 euro retun airport taxes
